I want to share some student projects from my first year teaching Mechatronics at Aalesund University College. In order to motivate the students, at the beginning of the course, Professor Houxiang Zhang and I decide to use several sets of Lego Mindstorms.
Different tasks have been assigned to the students. Here, I want to share some photos and videos from this experience.
To achieve this task students are encouraged to build their own encoder to measure the number of rotations of the robot wheels. Here is one of the sel-made encoder built by the students with a disc of paper.
Here some videos from different groups of students.
With this task the students are encouraged to explore and test different configuration for their robots.
