Filippo Sanfilippo awarded with the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) Grant

It is a great pleasure and a true honour for me to communicate that I have been awarded a research scholarship from the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) Scholarship program with regards to my PhD studies.

OES awards only eight scholarships a year to deserving researchers across the world.

The committee has officially announced the award with the following words:

"Dear Filippo, Thank you for your interest and application to the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) Scholarship program. We are delighted to inform you that your application package was approved and we would like to offer you a grant. Again, congratulations on your award."

I dedicate this award to all my students and to my family.

I am very thankful to Professor Kristin Ytterstad Pettersen, Department of Engineering Cybernetics, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim. Without her inspirational guidance, her enthusiasm, her encouragements, her unselfish help, I could never achieve these results.

IEEE has reported the news about the award on the following link and newsletter:

I am very glad to announce that I have been elected as Membership Development Officer for the IEEE Norway Section. I would like to express my greatest gratitude for all the IEEE members that supported me throughout the election. I pledge to work with you to improve IEEE, globally and locally, and to increase value for each member.

Some shots that I recently took in Japan

I am glad to share some shots that I recently took in Japan. I was there to present the following article:

Filippo Sanfilippo, Paul B.T. Weustink and Kristin Ytterstad Pettersen. A Coupling Library for the Force Dimension Haptic Devices and the 20-sim Modelling and Simulation Environment. Accepted for publication to the Proc. of the 41st Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IECON), Yokohama, Japan, 2015.

Some shots that I recently took in Japan. #Yokohama and #Tokyo. Feel free to share.
