Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). First detected in 2019 in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei, China, the disease has since spread globally resulting in the coronavirus pandemic of 2019–20. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought travel to a standstill. Because of my work as an active researcher, I used to travel quite often around the world prior the COVID-19 pandemic.

When the pandemic was already ongoing but travelling was still allowed, I was attending the 3rd IEEE International Conference on Information and Computer Technologies (ICICT), Silicon Valley, San Jose, United States, March 9-12, 2020. At the conference, I presented the following work:

Filippo Sanfilippo and Claudio Pacchierotti. A Low-Cost Multi-Modal Auditory-Visual-Tactile Framework for Remote Touch. In Proceeding of the 3rd IEEE International Conference on Information and Computer Technologies (ICICT), Silicon Valley, San Jose, United States. 2020, 213–218. PDF

During the conference, I had the opportunity to visit the Googleplex office in Mountain View. Here are some memories of my visit.
